A Bit About Us

Our Story

Anzara is a town in Yambio, South Sudan that was known for the beautiful textiles it produced.  It is a town near where the mother of Zita, Founder of Anzara, was raised. She migrated to Australia as a refugee with her family when she was still only a small child. However the smell, colours and scents of Africa still lingered within her memory.

In 2019, Anzara was born out of Zita’s passion for the diversity of African cultures, artistry amd craftmanship. Through Anzara, she wants to showcase the astonishing artistry, diversity and aesthetics that exists across the regions of Africa. She also wants to use Anzara as a vehicle to provide direct support to small business owners, artists and their communities. Many of these artists and small business owners are women.  The craftsmanship and love of culture, texture, colour and pattern is reflected in each of the items that have been carefully selected by Anzara.

Anzara brings only those things which command your attention, love and joy.  

As you purchase any item from our wonderful range, we hope that you view the item as a personal love letter from the artist and Africa to you.
